OREGON’S INAUGURAL AND SOLD OUT INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY LUNCHEON
Oregon’s inaugural (and sold out!) International Women’s Day event luncheon and social gathering was held on March 6, 2020.
In a short two month planning period at the beginning of the year, Samara Group teamed up with a volunteer organizing committee to create a meaningful networking social for women from around Oregon. This inaugural event connected women across industries to share inspiring stories of hope and community.
The event came together through the hard work of Broussard Culberson Communications @BroussardComm, Travel Oregon @TravelOregon, Canopy Portland | Pearl District, Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest @GirlsIncPNW, Hana Rucker @hanaruckersculptures, Camille Cavan of Quaintrelle, and the contributions of dozens of local women-owned businesses.
The theme, Inspiring Oregon’s Next Generation of Leaders, guided the day. Each attendee was asked to contribute to a reflective art piece: “What is something that you have learned that you would share with the next generation?” The art piece was developed throughout the event and was an amazing collaboration, co-created by Jordan Johnson @drawnhungry, Samara’s art director, Olivia Guethling, and Hana Rucker @HanaRuckerSculptures). Proceeds benefited Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest.
The social fuel and inspired speeches from the event are still carrying the Samara Group team through these times of physical distancing, and we’re so grateful for it!
